Acme Mills

Acme Mills is a privately owned company that has been supplying industrial fabrics and solutions to a wide range of industries since 1917. They have extensive experience in fabric development and application, developing revolutionary products like Dymetrol™ fabric for seat coverings. It is no surprise that when they needed a seaming process for one of their latest materials, they contacted the Merrow Stitch Lab™ for a solution.

Working With Merrow

Acme sent us a sample of their fabric and our Stitch Lab Technicians immediately new that we had the machine to seam their material - the 70-D3B-2. But there was a catch; Acme’s material was slightly thicker than the average woven or knit, and it was housed on wide stationary rolls that could not be moved for sewing. The solution, a modified version of the 70-D3B-2 for sewing high pile fabric (the 70-D3B-2 HP) mounted to a railway sewing station. Not only were we able to accommodate the demands of Acme’s unique material, we solved their logistical issue by suggesting a rail system. “Merrow’s partnerships with various OEM manufacturers really helped us on this one - we were able to get the equipment we needed to fit our in-house operation without any disruption to our existing set-up.”
